Clients (admin and staff)

An overview of the role of the client in Flow360

Introduction to the Client's Role

  • Clients generally have the financial responsibilities for the running and maintaining of their sites. Users can be assigned Client admin or Owner staff accounts with admin users generally having greater access and capabilities than staff users.
  • When a new site is entered, a client can be assigned at the site level or multiple clients can be entered at the site section level with each client having control of a section of the site. Clients can enter new site data for themselves or can allow (through preference settings) certain other user types to enter site data on their behalf.
  • The client is a key role, with the client having overview and control of most financial matters relating to their sites. In addition they can allow (through preferences settings) certain other users to have limited control of some financial aspects such as assigning cost centres and accounts to specific activities.

The client's role within Flow360 includes these areas:

  • assigning managers to sites
  • assigning surveyors to sites
  • adding and editing site resources
  • establishing standard tasks at the client level for use across all sites
  • establishing remits with service providers, covering geographical areas covered, work types undertaken and cost range of works undertaken
  • making budget decisions based on forward projections of maintenance costs
  • deciding on the most cost-effective options for maintenance based on entered choices
  • assigning cost-plus status to service providers enabling them to work on a cost-plus basis for reactive maintenance tasks

The client has relationships within Flow360 to:

  • when a client assigns a manager to a site

  • when a client assigns a surveyor to a site when the surveyor has sign-off responsibilities for work undertaken on a site that the client has responsibility for

  • when the owner establishes the client on a site

Service providers

  • when a client establishes remits for a service provider
  • when a service provider undertakes work on a site the client has responsibility for
  • when a service provider has submitted rates (client level or site/resource level) for works on a site the client has responsibility for
