The site structure

Deciding on a hierarchical data structure for your site and resources

Introduction

Sites added to Flow360 can have up to 7 hierarchical levels of site structure. In order to ensure consistency across all of your sites it is important that you consider how your site information will fit this structure. Even if you have only one site to enter, setting up a logical structure will ensure that additional information added sequentially over many years will sit happily in your structure.

Below are some examples showing how these types of sites would best be broken down:

    • a school / college
    • a trading or industrial estate
    • a church site
    • residential housing
    • an office or administration centre
    • apartments

Typically the 'asset' level is where you find individual structures such as buildings or defined areas of grounds, whilst the 'item' level is where you will find objects within rooms for example (furnishings, electrical fittings, doors etc)
