Why does Internet Explorer warn of insecure content?

How to turn off the mixed content warnings in Internet Explorer

Internet Options Security Settings

In Internet Explorer (Windows) you may see a warning about mixed or insecure content. This only happens when viewing a page that contains a map or chart information and is due to the fact that the map or chart is retrieved from a web address that does not use SSL.

To avoid these warnings showing up do this:

  1. Click on Tools then Internet options.
  2. In the Internet options dialogue click the "Security" tab.
  3. Select the "Internet" option and then click "Custom level..."
  4. Scroll the list until you find the "Miscellaneous" section and then find the "Display mixed content" section
  5. Select the "Enable" option (to allow mixed content)
  6. Click OK
